Digital Technology- EU Grant Funding

This school received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used to purchase digital equipment (see below), per the criteria outlined in circular 0060/2021).”

At our school, we are proud to provide our pupils with access to a wide range of exciting digital learning tools, many of which have been made possible thanks to generous EU Grant Funding. These resources help us create an engaging, hands-on learning environment where every child can explore, create and discover in new and imaginative ways.

We have invested in a full suite of iPads, giving children the opportunity to use interactive apps that support literacy, numeracy, creativity and problem-solving. Two large interactive panels have also been installed in classrooms, making lessons more dynamic and collaborative for pupils of all ages.

In addition, our pupils benefit from access to laptops for research, project work and digital creativity. We are also delighted to offer a range of coding and STEM equipment, including Micro:bits, Lego Spike, Bee-Bots and Strawbees. These resources allow children to design, code and build, developing critical thinking and teamwork skills while having fun.

By combining traditional learning with modern technology, we are preparing our pupils for the world of tomorrow. The investment in digital equipment not only enhances teaching and learning today, but also inspires curiosity, creativity and confidence in every child.
